🌸 Hello, Friend — I have a Bold Floral Card for you today.
Sometimes a card doesn’t need a lot of layers or complicated techniques to make a big impact. This Hello, Friend card is a perfect example!
I wanted the beautiful floral design to take center stage and show off all the rich colors and detailed texture of the Floral Spray 3D Embossing Folder.

I love how the embossed flowers and foliage create so much visual interest against the dark background.

🌸 Three Ink Colors: Strawberry Slush, Secret Sea and Old Olive

So where did I get that color combination from? Well, it was a team color challenge I took part in. I seriously need to use more Strawberry Slush in my projects! Anyway, I was given 3 colors I needed to use to create a project. And this is what I came up with…

A greeting card featuring a floral design with a large pink flower, green leaves, and the text 'Hello, friend' in a decorative font. Scissors and pink petals are placed beside the card on a wooden surface.
  • Secret Sea card base. 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
  • Strawberry Slush layer: 5-3/8 x 4-1/8″
  • Top floral layer is actually a piece of Basic White CS, 5-1/4″ x 4 and ran through the Floral Spray 3D Embossing Folder

After you emboss your white card stock, make sure to use the Debossed side of your paper. That is where the images are down in the paper instead of raised. Use Blending Brushes to add color to flowers and leaves. Then, LIGHTLY drag your Secret Sea ink pad across the entire piece of paper. LIGHTLY. You don’t want the black ink going into the crevasses of the flowers and such.

I tried to capture a photo showing the dimension…

Close-up of a floral design featuring pink flowers and green leaves on a dark background, with a decorative label partially visible.

🌸The “Hello, Friend” sentiment is the perfect finishing touch. Fussy cut and layer with Old Olive CS. Add a piece of Secret Sea ribbon behind it and add with dimensionals. Sentiment is from the Radiant Sunflowers stamp set.

This card is a great reminder that handmade cards don’t have to be complicated to be beautiful. Let your Designer Series Paper, embossing folders, and color choices do some of the work for you!
