Have you heard of NAMI? I am completely in awe of this organization; with what they stand for, offer and do. This makes my card all the more special.
I held my monthly card class this past weekend and chose to use the stamp set called "Nature's Beauty". To me, it is just a simple and serene stamp set with wonderful drawings of forest animals. In most catalogs, Stampin' Up! offers one set to donate profits to a charitable organization. And the 2019 Holiday catalog is no exception with this set.
As a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, every Tuesday, Stampin' Up! releases a weekly update to us. They share inside information, give sneak peaks, or advise whatever may be happening within the company and needs to be shared. (Good reason to join my team to get all the inside scoop). In today's updates, they finally announced the list of organizations benefiting from each and every sale of the "Nature's Beauty" stamp set, and in the U.S. it is an organization called NAMI.
NAMI stands for the National Alliance on Mental Illness. Please take a couple of minutes and check out their website. It is a wonderful organization that does so much good. I was surprised to find so many local branches in my back yard. Did you know mental illness has or will touch every single one of us? If it is the one thing you can do, it is to educate yourself and help support this amazing organization and order the Nature's Beauty stamp set with me today.
So it is 'with gratitude' that I just happened to make this card and I share my gratitude to Stampin' Up supporting NAMI!
My full supply list is below, showing product used to make this card, but here are the dimensions:
Very Vanilla card front (5-3/8 x 4-1/8) was embossed with the Woodlands folder.
I used Sponge Daubers and Balmy Blue ink for my sky. The tree and weed sprig are stamped in Mossy Meadow, grass in Old Olive, the deer stamped in Memento black and then colored with Soft Suede Blends (light and dark). The Smokey Slate Blends were used to highlight the shadows under the tree, weeds, and deer.
The deer is stamped on Very Vanilla that is 2-1/2 x 3-3/4. Soft Suede card stock was used to mat the deer piece and cut using the Stitched Rectangle Dies.
I hope you enjoyed this post and also can take a minute to learn about NAMI.
