Lisa Brown, Independent Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator

Do you like creating your own backgrounds for your projects? Do something different? Well, I have an idea for you… Using Stampin’ Up! Un-Inked, Ink Spots and Ink Refills, create unique color combinations and two-tone ink pads to create those unique backgrounds. Or even to make two-tone images.

Creating your two-toned Ink Spots: using Pretty In Pink and Daffodil Delight ink refills, ink half of your Stampin’ Spot with one color and the other half with the second color. Make sure to put just enough ink so you can see it start to soak through the side of the pad.

Checkered background: simply swipe from top to bottom, and then left to right. I would work on Grid Paper, and start off the edge of your white card stock to avoid harsh starting lines.

Creating two-tone flowers: using same ink pad from above, simply ink your image and stamp onto white card stock. Give the stamp a couple of taps on the ink pad, but be sure not to change the direct of the stamp or pad, you don’t want to mix the colors (or maybe you do…).

I’m crazy in love about this Two-Tone Spot idea! Thank you to Stampin’ Up! who shared this with all their Demonstrators.

ONE FINAL TIP: Notice the same words/phrase is used on both cards! This is the beauty of our photopolymer stamp sets. On longer stamps like that, you can shape the stamp on your acrylic block. Isn’t that fun!
