Creative Card Closet

Who doesn’t celebrate birthdays? I think just about everyone does or at least they should! I know some people who love to celebrate their special day all month long, ha ha! But making someone feel special even for one day of the year is definitely worth a celebration.

Hi there. I’m Lisa Brown, and this month we are showing off some special cards all about celebrating birthdays. So sit back and take a twirl around everyone’s fabulous projects.

I am featuring the brand new release Violet Dreams Suite Collection! Of course its purple so I had to have it…

This suite comes with two designer papers, one called Violet Dreams and the other is Shimmering Stripes. Both are 12″ x 12″ and both a gorgeous. With the Violet Dreams, you get 2 sheets of punch-out images which are the flowers on the card front and the little flowers inside around the oval. I tried to catch the shimmer from the ShImmering Stripes DSP. You can see a little bit of it below.

Oh! Did I mention this is a creative fold card? Its unique and uses a piece of the Designer Paper that is 6-3/4″ x 8″ and scored at 2-3/4″ on two sides. The scores will create a square section (were I stamped and colored the flower on left side of card) that you will fold over at a diagonal until the score lines meet.

The scored and folded DSP is glued to a pieces of Gorgeous Grape CS (4-1/4 x 5-1/2). You will also need the follow card stock pieces:

• Gorgeous Grape: 3 x 4
• Highland Heather:
  • 3-7/8 x 5-1/8
  • 2-5/8 x 2-5/8
  • 3-1/4 x 4-1/4 (for scalloped oval)
• Basic White: 3-3/4 x 5 and 2-1/2 x 2-1/2

The Shimmering Stripes DSP pieces is 2-7/8 x 3-7/8

I embellished the from with Adhesive Back Blooms and satin ribbon, both from the suite.
