Lisa Brown, Independent Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator

Our Designer Series Paper is versatile and can be used not only for card making and scrapbooking, but you can make tags, decor, and gift bags!

These gift bags are just adorable and are made with the December Product of the Month item – True Blue Florals 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper. Don’t know what the Product of the Month (POTM) is? Be sure to read my POTM blog post introducing and explaining everything you need to know And how you can earn this pack of DSP for $5. But… hurry! This pack of DSP is only available while supply lasts and then you will have to wait until January for the next POTM item and we have no idea what it will be!

To create a gift bag:

  1. Score two pieces of 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper with the same pattern at 3″ and 11-1/2″ , then rotate a quarter turn and score at 3″.
  2. Fold on all the score lines and cut along one score line of the 3″ x 3″ square in the corner of the paper to create a tab. Repeat for the 1/2″ x 3″ corner tab.
  3. Assemble the bag by adhering the 3″ side of one page to the 1/2″ side of the other page. Then tuck in the tabs and adhere the bottom flaps together.
  4. To create handles, score two 2-1/2″ x 12″ strips of Designer Series Paper along the short edge at 3/4″ and 1-3/4″. Fold at the score lines and adhere together.
  5. Adhere the handles to the inside of the bag and reinforce them by adhering a piece of 7-1/2″ x 2″ cardstock over the ends of each handle inside the bag.
